Websites Content Out of Control

May 11th, 2008 by Luni

I was browsing the internet today, looking for ways to drive traffic to my site, and my blog. When I found this site, looked at what it supposedly said about driving traffic to your site. I noticed half of the things listed contradicted themselves. Some of them made sense of the matter. Others…not.

I started to read the comments that users posted to his blog, where it was hosted. Noticed that almost all of the trackbacks didn’t work, and they didn’t even send you to what you are looking for. It pissed me off! The comments even talked about how it did that, yet people still continued to post comments about it. I for one will not be sending a trackback or even be adding the website url at this point. It would be a disgrace to this site. For one its not really content related, but its ass backwards.

Top 10 Unintentional Worst URLs

May 11th, 2008 by Luni

Attn: Entrepeneurs

Everyone knows that if you are going to operate a business in today’s world you need a domain name. It is advisable to look at the domain name selected as other see it and not just as you think it looks. Failure to do this may result in situations such as the following (legitimate) companies who deal in everyday humdrum products and services but clearly didn’t give their domain names enough consideration:

1. A site called ‘Who Represents‘ where you can find the name of the agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name… wait for it… is
www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange, a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at
www.expertsexchange.com

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at
www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at
www.therapistfinder.com

5. Then of course, there’s the Italian Power Generator company…
www.powergenitalia.com

6. And now, we have the Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales (that’s in Australia):
www.molestationnursery.com

7. If you’re looking for computer software, there’s always
www.ipanywhere.com

8. Welcome to the First Cumming Methodist Church. Their website is
www.cummingfirst.com

9. Then, of course, there’s these brainless art designers, and their whacky website:
www.speedofart.com

10. Want to holiday in Lake Tahoe? Try their brochure website at
www.gotahoe.com

- all from here.

Helping pays itself forward

May 11th, 2008 by Luni

So I go to log into the game to see what all has happened. I notice a new user is logged on. Which is always a good sign. Well that user had sent me a message asking if I could give him/her some tips. Also asking how do I like the game. So I sent them a message back with my tips, and telling him/her that of course i like the game a lot because I am the owner of it. The next thing i know i get a message back saying that they could help with the game. So I send the user back a message saying how. We got to talking about how he could help me out. As he was playing the game he noticed a bug that i really didn’t catch. Come on though its me working all alone, I am not perfect, I’m human, mistakes happen. Anyways so he tells me what is wrong, and I corrected it. He kept on playing. Eventually finding yet another bug. This bug was and easy work around because it was just > instead of a <. Which can mess everything up. Then the next part of the bug was that since I didn’t declare a max on how low it can get from doing the actions. It went into the negative. Since I don’t know how to declare a negative number and me putting in the number like -100 or so, didn’t work. All I ended up having to do was make it to where it can’t go below 0. It was that simple. lol

The funny part about this story, is we had something in common other then gaming. Read the rest of this entry »

Maker and Player

May 10th, 2008 by Luni

Let alone do I spend a lump sum amount of my time trying to contribute to the success of my website and my game, I often find myself emerged in the world of gaming from the other side. I have been playing Grand Theft Auto IV. Its based off the same Liberty City from the last one. Now I have always loved this series, and have played everyone of them so far. Before you ask, yes I have beat all of them, I don’t think that i got to 100% Vice City. Read the rest of this entry »

More Clicks

May 9th, 2008 by Luni

So last night I was searching on ways to get more page views or in this case more clicks. So I logged onto my adbrite account to be highly surprised to see that I had made 20 cents today and it was only 1:47 pm. I logged onto C.O.M ( Conflict of Man) happy to see that since I had went to bed C.O.M. had got 3 new members. What might have done this you might ask yourself? Well the only reason I could think of was the new theme I am using. It looks a lot better then the old basic theme I was using from ezRPG.

Getting my blog on.

May 9th, 2008 by Luni

Well, Conflict of Man has decided it needs more hits. What other way to get more hits then to put more content on the site. The hard part is making it content related. So in honor of Luni and conflictofman.com. Luni will be posting his journey on the creation of the game. Website that he found useful will be placed here also. This is not the place to be looking for if you are looking for updates on the game. This blog is primarly for the readers to get a grasp on the hardships of trying to run a MMORPG. That is all for now!
